Get A First Hand Account Of What An Anxiety Attack Actually Feels Like

The following posting Get A First Hand Account Of What An Anxiety Attack Actually Feels Like is due to Zap My Stress

Many people ask the question "what do panic attacks feel like?" And it's no surprise at all because an anxiety attack is like nothing else you would have ever experienced.

If you're reading this because you've experienced something that is so intensely fearful and terrifying then you may very well have just had your first anxiety attack.

But like with so many things in life when we have our first experience and it's something that is so unlike anything else we've experienced, it can lead to us having many questions.

So it is my hope in this article to give you a better idea of what a panic attack actually feels like. And what better way to provide you an insight than to let someone who's actually having one tell you exactly what they're feeling.

Man Films Himself Having Severe Panic Attack To Raise Awareness

...That is why the 27-year-old decided to film himself having a full blown attack and put it on YouTube for everyone to see, so they could fully understand how bad it can get.
"My brain is on fire, right now. I feel like I’m going to pass out, my emotions are crazy, obviously. I’m having crazy thoughts in my head.
I just wanted to make this video to show to myself that this is what it’s like when you don’t try to help yourself – when you think you can do it on your own.
I just wanted to make this video to show that this is real, okay? This is real."

You can see from the video that Casey is extremely distraught.

In his own words his emotions are running crazy and  he'll be experiencing all manner of extremely negative thoughts.

When you're having a panic attack, you've entered into a state of intense fear and anxiety and the brain will lock onto extremely negative ways of thinking, and typically you will be focusing on your own symptoms and imagining the worst is happening i.e. you're having a heart-attack, a stroke, or even dying.

I find it sad that he's had to film himself to prove to others this is a real experience and not an imagined one.

One of the additional problems that people suffer from is the fear and worry of having a panic attack as can be seen from when Casey mentions he's worrying about what others at work will think about him.

It's a fear of losing control and not knowing how to cope and what to do and feeling embarrassed.
Hopefully this has given you a better understanding of what panic feels like and the debilitating effects of such an unnerving experience.

If you begin to worry excessively about panic and you're experiencing a number of anxiety attacks fairly regularly, then you could be suffering from something called panic disorder.

The encouraging thing is that you can get rid of anxiety. I've seen this happen time and time again and if you'd like to find out more about what you can do to stop them happening, click here.
